2018 Maroon High Top Chucks

Maroon or burgundy canvas chucks have been around a long time as both a core and seasonal color of Converse All Star Chuck Taylor basketball shoes. They were considered a core color before the Converse bankruptcy, but not so afterwards. However they have been a consistently popular seasonal color, being made almost every year. This 2018 pair tends to indicate that this color is becoming a core model again, because the stitching on the ankle piece is maroon not white, while the rest of the stitching is white. This is just like all the core models. All the newer models of chucks now include the slit on the tongue for shoelaces between the sixth pair of eyelets, which holds the tongue in place and makes it easier to lace and unlace the shoes. Maroon high tops have natural inside canvas, black racing stripes, the standard red white and blue ankle patches, and white foxing and toecaps.
