Nick Kids remember when Victoria Justice debuted as the new student at Pacific Coast Academy in Season 2 of Zoey 101. She played aspiring actress Lola Martinez and she was a fan favorite on the show. This led to excitement when it was announced that she would be getting her own musical comedy show on Nick, Victorious. Victorious was big and is beloved for its wacky characters and musical numbers. Many of these musical numbers became singles that Nick would release, one of which is the song “Beggin’ On Your Knees”. The song was released on April 2nd, 2011, a day after it premiered on an episode of the show. It would go on to reach #58 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Scootin’ on the skee ball ramp in chucks.
When the song debuted on the show, it was the center of the storyline for the episode. After learning that her new partner is using her and other girls to pass his school grades, Tori (Justice) enlists the help of her friend Andre (Leon Thomas III) to write and produce the song. The scene where the song was performed features Justice with her partner Ryder Daniels (Ryan Rottman) on stage. As he is about to start singing, his microphone is turned off. Tori starts singing, and the lyrics combined with the spotlight flashing on him the entire time, tell everyone what the song is about. This performance causes Ryder to fail the singing exam and exposes him as a heartbreaking liar.

The music video takes a very similar narrative but condenses it. Justice catches her boyfriend taking another girl to an amusement park that they once visited. She sees them doing the same stuff they once did and she lets out her frustrations by belting out the song. She is backed up by dancing park employees in chucks and the cast of Victorious. She ends the video leaving with her friends and choosing them over her cheating boyfriend. Both the scene in the show and the music video do a good job of conveying the story of the song but the show with its added run time is able to paint a more vivid picture.
