Spooky Season is here and that means it is time for Halloween music. Although not as all-encompassing as Christmas music, there are a good solid batch of Halloween songs that’ll up the spooky vibe of the season or any Halloween party you may have. A possible new entry to the rotation could be the newest track from singer-songwriter iamnotshane, “It’s Halloween”. The song was released on August 30th, 2024 with an accompanying music video.
Spooky records and classic chucks start the video right.
The track is described by the artist as a nostalgic Halloween love song. It has a sound that is similar to the Halloween classic “The Monster Mash” but it focuses on romance rather than dancing ghouls. The lyrics describe the wonderful love that Shane is feeling and how it makes him no longer afraid of what mysteries are outside. He is no longer terrified of ghouls, ghosts, or goblins because he has his girl by his side. He says to let them in while they wait by the fireplace because he has no fear of whatever they do. The music combined with the romantic lyrics really harkens back to 1960s pop music.
Nothing says October like fallen leaves and a Halloween sweater.
The music video begins with Shane walking up to a record player in his black high top chucks and playing a black and white jack-o-lantern-themed record. He stands next to the fireplace in the retro living room as his girlfriend, Lani Baker Randol, spins into frame. He covers her eyes as the title card flashes. Shane puts on a Frankenstein mask and they begin to dance. Inside the retro TV, a Bobby Darin-esque Shane croons in a black-and-white throwback performance. Lani joins him here too and they dance some more. We see shots of Halloween starting outside the house with trick-or-treaters walking the streets and getting candy. The video ends with Shane and Lani dancing amongst the trick-or-treaters and sitting under a Halloween tree looking at the stars. It’s a really nostalgic video that gives of such great 1960s/70s energy that you can’t help but smile. It also fits very well with the vibe of the song and Shane’s vocals.
: A lovely spooky dance in front of jack-o-lanterns is perfect for Halloween.
