OutKast is widely regarded as one of the greatest and most influential hip-hop acts of all time. The duo achieved both critical acclaim and commercial success for over a decade and took Southern hip-hop to new levels with their intricate lyrics and experimental sound that blended funk, psychedelia, jazz, and techno. This led them to being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on November 8th, 2025. As is tradition at a Rock Hall induction, other artists perform the inductee’s biggest songs as a tribute. As part of OutKast’s induction, Tyler, the Creator and H.E.R. performed two of their biggest and best songs: “B.O.B.” and “Hey Ya”.

Tyler, the Creator wears ivory Chuck 70s for this tribute performance.
Tyler, the Creator is an American rapper and musician who has released some of the most critically acclaimed albums of the 2010s, as a solo artist and as a member of Odd Future. He has also had a long partnership with Converse through his clothing brand, Golf Wang. Beginning in 2017 when he reinterpreted the Converse One Star, and continuing ever since, the rapper has designed multiple collections for the brand. So when he skipped onto the Rock Hall stage in ivory Chuck 70s to perform “B.O.B.”, it was no surprise whatsoever.

“Thoughts at a thousand miles per hour.”
Tyler perfectly encapsulates the manic energy that is required to match Andre 3000’s flow on this track. “B.O.B.” is an all-out assault with its 155 beats per minute tempo, "Hendrix-ian" guitars, organs, drum’n’bass rhythms, and gospel vocals. On the original track, André 3000 and Big Boi employed a breakneck speed flow in order to keep pace with the song’s high-speed tempo, and Tyler does an incredible job replicating that here. There aren’t many rappers who could combine the stamina required to perform the song with the technical aspect of the verses. Once Tyler gets to the chorus, H.E.R. comes in to perform OutKast’s biggest hit “Hey Ya!”, and she too is possessed by the spirit of Andre 3000. Her vocals are obviously impeccable, and she delivers the bridge with such ferocity. The entire tribute is incredible and a great celebration of one of the most influential hip-hop duos of all-time.

The planet, Stankonia’s on ya.
