Jungle is a British band formed in early 2013 by London-based producers Josh Lloyd-Watson and Tom McFarland, eventually adding Lydia Kitto. The band has released five studio albums, including 2014’s Jungle, which was shortlisted for the Mercury Prize, an annual music prize awarded for the best album released by a musical act from the United Kingdom or Ireland. The band blends neo soul, funk, and dance to create infectious rhythms and melodies. Their latest single is “Come Back to Me” and comes off their fifth album, Sunshine.

The choreography in this video is great.
The single is a dance track that, like the rest of the album, is inspired by Brazilian music of the 60s and 70s. The song covers the wanting and yearning that comes with dreaming of living a life with someone who isn’t there. On the chorus, the phrase “come back to me” is repeated, while on the bridge they say that “they’ll sing a lover's story” all in an effort to get that special someone to come back to them. The longing that is in the lyrics creates a beautiful dissonance with the positive vibes that come from the music.

This dancer wears Logo Play Chuck 70’s in the video.
The video was made in collaboration with Apple and Apple’s Creator Studio. To celebrate the release of Sunshine, Jungle shot eleven music videos in just four days, one for each of the eleven tracks on the album. The video takes place in a coloful and vibrant neighborhood, and it opens with a blue truck dropping a large package out front. We follow a resident through the town as others join him. They then break out into some incredibly smooth dances, beautifully choreographed. One of the main dancers is wearing a pair of Logo Play Chuck 70’s in white, university red, and rush blue, which fit with the vibrant and fun setting. The residents dance throughout the neighborhood, breaking off from each other and coming back together several times. The video ends with everyone smiling and conversing before transitioning into the next video in the eleven video series. It’s a fun and beautifully shot video that fits very well with the vibes of the song.
