How Do I Choose the Correct Shoelace Length?

Shoelaces manuafacturers are in unanimous agreement that 45 inch shoelaces are meant for chucks with seven eyelet pairs, 54 inch shoelaces are for eight eyelet pairs, and 63 inch shoelaces are for chucks with nine eyelet pairs. This will you allow you to lace up and have enough lace left for a normal knot. Converse agrees with this on their website, but are notorious for shipping shoes with irregular lengths, usually longer than necessary. If you are having problems lacing up, one common problem is not cinching up the laces on the lower eyelet. There are slide show guides to help you with this. Lacing Up an Eight Eyelet Pair. Lacing Up a Seven Eyelet Pair. If you prefer a longer loopy lace, choose a longer length when you order. Find out more about this and other topics on our Shoelace Information page or our Lacing Tips for Chucks page.
